Crypto risks & scams
The dark side: how to avoid getting scammed.
Pump & dump
Groups pump up an unknown coin with hype, sell at the top, and leave buyers behind at -90%. If it sounds too good to be true...
Rug pulls
Developers launch a token, pull the money out, and disappear. Always check whether a project has real people and a real purpose.
'Squid Game' token: +23,000,000% and then to zero
A token riding the Netflix hype shot up — until its creators made off with millions and buyers could no longer sell. A classic rug pull.
Golden rule
No one gives you free money. 'Send 1 ETH, get 2 back' is always a scam. Never click on suspicious airdrop links.
Remember this
- Pump & dump: hype pumps up a coin, insiders sell at the top, you're left behind.
- Rug pull: creators launch a token, pull the money out, and disappear.
- No one doubles your money for free — 'send 1, get 2 back' is always a scam.
- Always check whether a project has real people, a real purpose, and transparency.
There is a quiz for this lesson
